playing with unexpected colors today on the blog. when it comes to outerwear, the military vest and jacket rank #1 in my arsenal. i am obsessed with everything utilitarian, and i especially love to pair the trend with contrasting feminine pieces.
the feminine star in this look is obviously this flowy, mauvey blush dress from old navy. i fell in love with this dress when i saw it online, and i was even more delighted when i saw the petite size options. it’s so hard to find dresses that stop at the perfect mid-thigh length, but this $30 dress definitely hit the spot (shawties, ya feel me?). the color is so beautiful and ethereal, but it’s earthy enough to match the olive tones in the vest. you can’t beat the price and style of this dress, and a lady even stopped me at the mall and asked if it was from anthropologie. hey girl heyyyy
lastly, i have to mention that this vest is one of my favorite purchases of the year. it’s one of the only vests i’ve found that sports an elasticized waist and a rich, warm army green color. i think it’s a perfect amount of slouchiness and structure, and i can’t imagine it looking bad on anyone. the fact that it’s under $100 is just a cherry on top.
for accessories, i went with my clare v leopard clutch for a pattern pop and neutral beige booties to keep my legs visually long and lean. my new iridescent kendra scott peach earrings add some sparkle to my smile. ;)
