Hi Fam! Today I’m so excited to share my review of Rent the Runway Unlimited! The CRAZIEST thing is that just a few weeks ago I was at lunch with a few bloggers, and I complimented one of the girls on her beautiful leather jacket. She told me it just came in that morning from Rent the Runway and it was by MARISSA WEBB. I was s h o o k because I LOVE her work, but her designer clothes are far from my budget. Normally, I would need to save a long time for one item from her collection, but now I can get Marissa Webb delivered to my doorstep on constant rotation :D Rent the Runway has always been my go-to place for renting special pieces for big events for years, but this is the first time I’ve tried their Unlimited program. (I even rented all my wedding accessories from them for my big day!) With RTR Unlimited, I don’t have to wait for a big occasion to try something special. I can make everyday a runway moment.
So what is RTR Unlimited?
It’s a premium membership that gives you access to a rotating closet of 600+ designer clothes and accessories. The average RTR Unlimited Member wears at least $30,000 of designer clothing a year! How it works:
1 | R E N T – Pick 4 styles at a time per shipment for work, weekend, a night out, or something completely different— the choice is yours and always yours.
2 | W E A R – Style and wear your items however you want for as long as you want.
3 | S W A P – When you’re ready for something new, return your styles one at a time or all at once. Dry cleaning, insurance and 2-day shipping is on the house.
I love that I have full access to designer pieces that I normally dream about through my laptop screen. For a fraction of the cost, I can live out my fashionista dreams IRL. It’s a unique opportunity to try out new trends/brands with complete ease AND you can have something special for all occasions – work, weddings, parties or everyday life. Don’t get stuck paying $$$$ on a single item only to wear it once. You can have a new set of clothes every week to experiment with!
As for the experience, it’s too much fun. The shipping, execution and customer service have been AMAZING. Your items come in a black reusable zippered fabric garment bag (it’s so chic!). Save your packaging & hangers and all you need to do to return is swap the outer label for the new one included in the bag. There is a sturdy outer sleeve that holds your label secure to the bag.
You always have 4 open spots, so you can keep and exchange any combination of items you want. Keep 1, return 3 back and then when they arrive to the warehouse – pick out 3 new items to refill your 4 spots. If you want to rent more items at once, you can add more spots for additional cost. Whenever I have a few free minutes, I like to scroll through the new arrivals and wishlist my favorite items that I want to try next. Now I’m BEGGING for new events because I need an excuse to order a designer ball gown to wear! Scroll down below to see how I styled 3 RTR items for summer. MY FALL WISHLIST
Who doesn’t love gingham for the summer?! I channeled the ultimate picnic babe vibes with this stunning double layered, pleated black & white gingham midi skirt from Delphi Collective. It’s whimsical in style and wispy in feeling. For such a full skirt, it feels so light and airy making it a lovely piece for summer to fall. I paired it with a cute black off shoulder crop top and straw bag to complete the summer outfit.
One of the BEST reasons to use Rent the Runway is for special occasions, and I CANNOT GET ENOUGH OF THIS DRESS. With the RTR Unlimited membership, you can buy the actual item for a discount. I am SO TEMPTED to pull the trigger on this one and another Self Portrait dress. This Island Time dress from C/MEO Collective checks off all the boxes for me for the perfect summer dress. It’s super comfy, vibrant, flattering and unique. I love how it creates an hourglass shape and the generous ruffle trim makes it so festive. The brushed “paisley” shaped color swirls are so pretty – I don’t have anything like it! I paired it with a straw bag and crochet woven earrings for a textural accent. Definitely a must rent for your next summer party!
Lastly, I wanted to try a popular item and something different than a dress, so I rented the Mara Hoffman Libby Wrap Top. This is a stunning statement top for summer. It’s made of durable linen for the heat, and the big billowy puff sleeves are so in right now. I love the bold graphic striped pattern, but the beige and ivory colors make it soft & feminine. I would wear this as an extra special piece for everyday or a casual business meeting. I paired it with crisp white jeans and a bag to compliment the white stripes in the shirt. Overall, this look is fresh for the summer season, and I will definitely be checking out more statement tops in my next shipments!
Thank you to Rent the Runway for sponsoring this post and thank you all for stopping by and supporting my work! xo – Erica
