SPORTY MINIMALISM

comfy. cool. simplistic. the athleisure trend has taken the world by storm and thank god because i’m tired of prancing around in heels 24/7. modern athletic gear is all about fusing utility with fashion forward trends. gone are the days of noisy, gem colored track suits with elasticized hems. it’s all about being comfortable and looking chic at the same time.

i have to be honest. it took awhile for me to open up to this trend. i like to think i’m a nice mix of tomboy and girly girl, but honestly… i’d live in a flowy dress with no bra for the rest of my life if i could. wearing anything remotely athleisure was a reminder that i hadn’t been to a gym in 6 months. things, however, changed when i found this cute mesh paneled shift at marshalls. it has the lightweight, breathable fabric of workout wear, but the shape of something i would typically wear on a daily basis. the mesh panels are an added athletic detail, and i thought it worked perfectly with my perforated black slip ons from old navy. to keep things casual, but still me, i added a large bucket bag in a beautiful shade of blush. it alllllmost looks like a backpack, but it’s way more polished. hope you enjoyed this super simple look!
