A Colorado Hike with lululemon
Hi loves!! Hope you all are doing well and enjoying your summers! Today I have a super exciting collaboration with the gold standard of modern activewear – lululemon! I am a die hard lululemon fan that literally works from home in my Align Leggings every single day paired with either an All Tied Up Tank Top or an All Yours Boyfriend Tee. I love everything from their styles, colors, fabrics and company mission. They not only motivate you to create your best life through sweat, stress relief and healthy living, but they also connect you to a community of fellow active-life lovers. It is always so much fun to shop around the store and bond with other women on our favorites. PS. I recently took Jeremy into their mens department for the first time, and he is now equally OBSESSED. A couple that lululemons together, stays together :D
For this post, I was overjoyed to have the opportunity to try out a few pieces from their summer collection. I took my new sports bra, crop top and breezy shorts on my trip to Colorado last week, and I test drove the pieces throughout the weekend, including our hike through Settler’s Park in Boulder. I am soooo excited to be moving to Colorado next year, you guys! To escape into the trees and breathe in that mountain air every morning is my version of paradise. Let’s start with the basics! The base of any comfortable activewear outfit is a great, supportive BRA. I’ve always struggled at finding the perfect bra that combines the support of a luxury, padded bra with the breathable comfort of a sports bra… until I discovered the lululemon Up for It bra.
This is my ULTIMATE pick for a hybrid bra that combines full coverage support, molded no-underwire cups, soft flexibility AND adjustable eye-hook closures. I completely fell in love with this bra! It was the perfect level of support for the light workout during our day hike, and I even wore it home on my flight back to California – it was so dang comfortable! The bra itself is very lightweight, and I especially love the lightly padded, molded cups for modesty and subtle lift. The band underneath is strong and fitted thanks to the customizable hooks in the back, and the mesh cross straps are a cute and sporty detail. I was securely locked in without feeling suffocated. I had no sign of the “pancake” effect that I normally experience with too-tight sports bras. I give this bra a 10/10 because I can see myself wearing it seamlessly for daily AND active life. It fit TTS for me at a 32C.
Next up, the Hotty Hot Short II in 2.5″ inseam (size 2). (Secret confession: my AIM screen name used to be Hottiehothot, LOL yikes) So let’s just say that I had an immediate soul bond connection with these shorts! I also used to be an avid cross country runner, so these types of shorts have been in my life for a long time.
The Hotty Hot Short features a shortened inseam, full-coverage elasticized liner and a “weightless” feeling that makes these shorts an amazing option for a hot summer day or a nice long run. The stretchy fabric allows for full mobility, and I love the thoughtful features like reflective trim, the secret side pocket for cards AND a secret seam pocket under the waistband for keys. The fit is more low-rise, but I hiked mine up a bit when climbing up the steep rocks. Either way, super comfy! If you are looking for a versatile and stylish pair of running shorts, you will enjoy these, and if this pair is too short for you, then check out the longer 4″ inseam version!
Third winner of today’s outfit is the Muscle Love Crop Tank Fade (wearing size S). As a big fan of activewear crop tops, this tank was superb for the hot summer weather. The big open arm holes, loose, ultra-soft material and lifted hem gave me that “near naked” feel on a 96 degree weather day. The look of this tank is adorable with the super faded, worn-in wash and contrasting seams. It feels like your favorite worn-in oversized sleep shirt! The length of this tank is great for high waisted bottoms and extra ventilation for sticky weather. Loved wearing this tank with the Hotty Hot Short during the day and then pairing it with my Align Leggings for the plane ride home.
Lastly, for accessories, I’m wearing a pair of Secret Socks (literally the best pair of athletic no-show socks) and brought along my Purist Water Bottle and Baller Hat in black. The Baller Hat is classic and minimal, making it a perfect compliment to your activewear look while providing shade for your peepers. A black baseball cap is also an amazing way to add a dash of athleisure to any non-activewear outfit too. It comes in several monochromatic colors, but I love the black the best :)
I’m also currently replacing all of my old athletic socks for exclusively Secret Socks – they are that good! They are the exact thinness that I like, but they are high quality, comfortable and come with a lining that prevents slippage. No bunching, here! I love the naked look because it makes your legs look longer, and these are truly no-show socks. So worth the money!
