A Chic City Outfit with COLE HAAN

Today, I’m partnering up with one of my favorite brands, Cole Haan! I’m styling the Lace Up Sneaker and Mini Backpack from their Grand Ambition collection that focuses on fit, feel, flexibility and cushioning. One of the many reasons why I love Cole Haan’s shoes is that they are comfortable for heavy daily use, yet look elevated enough for the office. Jeremy and I just moved to Denver, and we decided to stroll around downtown and check out the beautiful Union Station. It’s still cold and snowy out here, but the sun makes everything look like a sparkling winter wonderland! For my look, I was going for an elevated travel-friendly outfit that kept me warm, yet polished. I started with a ribbed long sleeve base layer tee with a cream cashmere sweater on top. To compliment the navy lace up sneakers, I went with a matching navy coat and contrasted the dark blues with a light, bright wash pair of jeans. The tan mini backpack adds that perfect pop of warmth to compliment the blues.

As a huge fan of their GrandPrø Tennis Sneakers, I was delighted to try out the Grand Ambition Lace Up Sneaker in marine blue suede. These shoes are a unique combination of athletic and professional. They combine the sporty touches of a sneaker with the refinement of an oxford shoe (in my opinion). The pointed toes are elongating and elegant, while the white soles create a fresh contrast to the dark navy suede uppers. The matching laces are delicate and dressy, and I also love the subtle glimmer from the metallic toe!

In terms of comfort, these shoes have the same bouncy, light cushioned quality that I’ve come to love with Cole Haan’s shoes. The inner beds feel like squishy marshmallows, and you never feel weighed down. As for durability, you would never guess these SUEDE shoes are WATER-RESISTANT! The snow was melting the morning I shot this outfit, so it was a great relief to not worry about ruining a delicate suede shoe. I get so many questions about what shoes work with rainy weather, so definitely check out Cole Haan if you are in the market for a pair. I am wearing my true size 5.5, but I recommend sizing up 1/2 a size if you prefer more room in the toe box or plan to wear socks.

Grand Ambition Sneakers

The Grand Ambition mini backpack in british tan leather is EVERYTHING! This is my first Cole Haan bag and it did not disappoint! I love mini bags in general, but for traveling or running errands, I prefer a hands-free experience. A fanny pack is great for the essentials, but when I need more space, a backpack is the way to go.

I love this backpack because it is SIMPLE and FUNCTIONAL. The smooth leather is great quality, supple and matches with literally everything. Even the logo is monochromatic with the leather color for a super clean look. The design of the bag is fantastic. You can wear it as a backpack, a long shoulder bag, a shorter crossbody or carry it by its top handle. The straps seamlessly transition into the different forms – no need to unbuckle anything to turn it into a crossbody. The outer pocket comes in handy for smaller items and the inside can comfortably carry your wallet, keys, small water bottle, notebook, etc. Whether you need a small hands-free bag for city living, work or traveling – this mini backpack has got you covered.
