Time to Shine for the Holidays with Express

I can’t believe we are in the thicket of HOLIDAY SEASON! It’s that time of year to celebrate our friends, family and inner divas :) From late night soirees to intimate get-togethers, there is a flurry of events to get dressed up for. Today, I’m excited to partner with Express on two completely different looks for the holiday season, one for partying ’till the break of dawn and the other for casual holiday meet-ups. It doesn’t matter the dress code, you can always take the moment to shine this season! I honestly love both looks so much. Scroll down to read the full story, and I hope you enjoy!

For day time activities or casual days, I wanted to style something playful and cozy. Guys… I’m OBSESSED with the Express plaid pants this year!! I featured my navy pair last month in this post, and I had to snatch up this latest pair in autumnal red plaid. These pants are incredibly stretchy like yoga leggings, but polished enough for everyday wear and even the office. The material is great quality and completely opaque. Super cute and festive!

To let the pants shine, I paired them with a cream colored chenille sweater and matching ruffle trimmed scarf.  Layered on top of each other, the two look seamless and provide a little balance to the louder pants. Express always brings it with the chenille sweater assortment every year, and I enjoy wearing them as a base on extra chilly days!

And for my night time look, I went full DIVA, honey!!! I couldn’t resist the assortment of head to toe sequin looks this year, and I decided on this burgundy cap sleeve bodycon dress (wearing size XXS). The sequin pattern looks part Aztec warrior princess and part art deco, does that make any sense? Anyway, the pattern is both stunning and fierce! I appreciate how the triangular pattern of sequins near the stomach give you the illusion of an hourglass figure (My Jack Skellington shaped body appreciates this optical illusion), and I was stunned that this piece wasn’t shedding sequins everywhere I went. This is an incredible show stopper of a dress, and I highly recommend checking out Express’s other statement look for your holiday and New Year’s Eve celebrations. Never miss a chance to shine like the queen you are, ladies! :)

Thank you to Express for partnering with me on this post & thank you all for supporting my work! -xoxo E

What I like about your blog is that you try on the clothes for us. This way we see what it looks like on a normal person. Most of the time the pieces look better on you than on the models! And you style the looks nicely for us too. Some websites just show the clothes sans human. Or the model is so emaciated that its a deterrant from shopping there. I always look forward to your posts. Thanks for your hard work.
